Indian Army Foils Uri Infiltration Bid; One Soldier Martyred, Night Curfew in Samba

Operation in Uri Sector

Uri, Jammu and Kashmir – The Indian Army successfully foiled an infiltration attempt in the Uri sector early Wednesday morning. During the operation, one soldier lost his life while ensuring that the intrusion was stopped.

This comes just days after security forces eliminated two terrorists in the same area. Search operations are currently underway to ensure no further threats remain.


Night Curfew in Samba for Enhanced Border Security

Earlier in the day, the District Magistrate of Samba announced a night curfew for areas within 2 km of the International Border. The restriction will be enforced daily from 10 pm to 5 am for the next two months, unless withdrawn earlier.

The order, issued by District Magistrate Ayushi Sudan, was taken in coordination with security agencies to support BSF operations, strengthen border monitoring, and prevent unlawful activities during night hours.

Only individuals with valid reasons will be allowed to move during curfew hours, and they must carry identification. Violators will face legal consequences.


Recent Sacrifices in Kulgam

On 9 August, two Indian Army jawans died during the ninth day of anti-terror operations in Akhal Devsar, Kulgam district, South Kashmir.

The Chinar Corps paid tribute to Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh for their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Chinar Corps wrote:

“Their courage and dedication will forever inspire us. The Indian Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved families.”
