In a significant development, Nayab Singh Saini has been unanimously chosen as the Haryana BJP Legislative Party leader on October 16, 2024, just a day before his oath-taking ceremony as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second consecutive term. This follows the BJP’s historic victory in the October 5 Assembly elections.
The announcement was made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a meeting held at the BJP office in Panchkula. Several Union Ministers and BJP MLAs were present at the gathering, along with Manohar Lal Khattar, Saini’s predecessor, who also attended the event.
Ahead of his swearing-in ceremony on October 17, Saini was celebrated with a traditional gesture, as Haryana BJP leaders offered him jalebi, symbolizing good wishes and the start of a new chapter in his leadership.
