New Delhi: 

India recorded 10,649 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of Covid cases to 4,43,68,195.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the country also reported 36 deaths in the last 24 hours due to Covid, bringing the total number of Covid-related fatalities to 5,27,452.

The active cases comprise 0.22 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.59 percent.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 4.15 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.59 percent.

Odisha Records 296 New Covid Cases, 2 Deaths
Odisha’s COVID-19 tally rose to 13,25,766 on Wednesday as 296 more people, including 44 children, tested positive for the infection. Odisha had recorded 206 infections and a fatality on Tuesday.

Maharashtra’s Thane Records 366 New COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours

Thane district of Maharashtra has recorded 366 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally of infections to 7,39,400.

With the addition of the latest numbers on Tuesday, the active COVID-19 tally in the district has reached 2,131 compared to 2,016 the previous day.

One death was also reported on Tuesday, which raised the fatality count in Thane to 11,939.

The count of recoveries has reached 7,25,710, he added.
